Platte River Associates, Inc. is proud to announce the release of BasinMod 2011. A major upgrade to our popular BasinMod 2009, BasinMod 2011 was developed with the firm scientific foundation the industry demands.
As the geologic community is well aware, the last several years have been a period of intensive evolution in geologic theory and technical advances for shale plays. BasinMod 2011 provides critical tools necessary for anyone working with either unconventional or conventional resource plays. These include the ability to:
- Determine methane adsorption using Langmuir isotherms
- Determine hydrocarbon liquid and vapor fractions with the Flash Calculator
- Use logs to calculate Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Initial TOC
- Use Compositional Kinetics to calculate individual hydrocarbon components
- Identify hydrocarbon proneness with the Kerogen Quality Plot
- Compare multiple parameters of multiple wells with Radar Plots
New Features:
Compositional Kinetics
Generate and expel multiple components of hydrocarbon, such as C2, C3 by assigning a Compositional Kerogen
Lithology Map Assignment Tool
Create a lithofacies map by assigning a lithology to an event in multiple wells with one operation using the Lithology Assignment Tool.
Compositional Lithologies View
Visually track lithology changes in the stratigraphy column by viewing a lithology mix as a display of the mix’s pure lithology components.
Automatic Color and Pattern for Lithology Mixes
Automatically assign a color from the ternary diagram for lithology mixes. Automatically assign a pattern based on the dominant pure lithology type.
Ro - LOM Relationship
The Ro-LOM relationship in the TOC from Logs tool has been updated to Passey, 2010.
Graph Scenarios Make changes to your model and see what effect they have by comparing before-and-after graphs using Scenarios.
