August 2006 Release Information
BasinMod 1-D New Features
- Biodegradation Threshold may be specified and displayed on Burial History and Petroleum Systems Plots.
- "Effective Source Fraction" can be applied to the source formation to designate that portion of the formation which actually contains organic matter.
- New values have been added to graphs and reports, including Gas Generated Volume for Rock Unit, Oil Retained Volume for Rock Unit, Maximum Temperature, and Maximum Excess Pressure<./li>
- Maturity Windows can be plotted on the stratigraphy column of a Geochemical Log Plot.
- “Reservoir + Seal” and “Source + Reservoir + Seal” have been added as additional Petroleum Systems Event types.
- The default compaction method has been changed from “Mechanical” to “Fluid flow” and the default porosity reduction method has been changed from “Exponential” to “BasinMod 2-D fluid flow”.
