Platte River offers a broad range of consulting services to companies and individuals worldwide. On-site at client offices or project locations, or at one of the Platte River offices around the world, experienced geologists offer hydrocarbon systems modelling, risk analysis, and evaluation at the basin, play, or prospect level.

We believe that the best petroleum systems analysts come from the oil business. All of our senior geologic staff are explorationists before they are modellers, and they have learned to explore while in the employ of major oil companies. They are just as comfortable looking at seismic data and well logs as they are in basin modelling, yet all have significant experience in the art of petroleum systems analysis and the integration of these results with the key goal of finding oil and gas.

Tools available for use in consulting projects:

• BasinMod 1-D: Calibrated models that provide basin parameters for multi-dimensional studies, estimated timing of the generation and expulsion of hydrocarbons from the source rocks,
• BasinMod 2-D: Calculation of basin's geohistory/burial history, thermal history, pressure, maturation, hydrocarbon generation, primary and secondary migration, and accumulation.
• BasinView Mapping and Integration: Creation of maps at important horizons (reservoir, source rock, etc.) that display critical parameters and processes (porosity, permeability, hydrocarbon generation, hydrocarbon expulsion, etc.) at various geologic times.
• BasinFlow: Basic volumetric analysis of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation.
